A navel strategy game of hit or miss
The players should sit opposite each other with the play unit between them. Share the pegs equally between the two players, separate the red pegs into one compartment and the white pegs into the other. Each player places their ships on the horizontal grid in front of them. The ships can be placed anywhere on the grid in either a vertical or horizontal position. Decide which player is going to start.
Each player takes turns to shoot at their opponent’s ships by giving a reference point on the grid that they want to target. The opponent finds the point that has been targeted and declares ‘hit’ or ‘miss’. The firing player records the response by using a red peg for a ‘hit’ or a white peg for a ‘miss’. If the ship has been hit, the player whose ship has been hit must place a red peg in the relevant space on that ship.
The first player to hit and destroy all of their opponent’s ships is the winner.
