Counting Game
The object of the game is to get your spider home to its web at the top of the drainpipe before it rains. Each player chooses a matching spider and drainpipe board. The board is placed on the table with the shapes side face downward. Players place their spiders on the ‘start’. N.B. Only the number dice is used for this game.
The youngest player begins by throwing the number dice and moving their spider up the drainpipe the corresponding number of spaces.
They then spin the weather spinner. If the arrow points to the sun, the spider stays where it is. If the arrow points to the rain, the spider goes back down the drainpipe to the ‘start’. Play then passes to the next person. Players do not need to throw the exact number to reach their web.
The winner is the first player to get their spider to its web at the top of the drainpipe.
Shapes Game
The object of the game is to get your spider home to its web at the top of the drainpipe.
Each player chooses a matching spider and drainpipe board. The board is placed on the table with the shapes side face upward. Players place their spiders on the ‘start’. N.B. Only the shapes dice is used for this game. The youngest player begins by throwing the shapes dice and moving their spider up the drainpipe to the first shape that matches the outline of the one shown on the dice.
They then spin the weather spinner. If the arrow points to the sun, the spider stays where it is. If the arrow points to the rain, the spider goes back down the drainpipe to the ‘start’. Play then passes to the next person. If the shape on the dice does not match one that is ahead of the player’s spider, they do not move and play passes to the next person.
Players must throw the correct matching shape to reach their web. The winner is the first player to get their spider to its web at the top of the drainpipe.
